Samantha & the Girls in Atlantic City for the Weekend!
Yay!, A couple of my rowdy girlfriends and I are off to Atlantic City for Memorial Day Weekend! Spending a weekend at an Atlantic City Hotel is an awesome treat because there is SO much more to do in the east coast version of “SinCity” than just sit at a table throwing your money away in hopes of just breaking even.
Atlantic City has the oldest & largest boardwalk on the east coast, stretching a massive 7 miles. The boardwalk is filled with the normal boardwalk activities - rides, snacks & those horrid games where you have to throw a baseball into a bucket. Personally my favorite part about the boardwalk is the mix of performers that come and try to make a buck by showing off everything from musical talents to balancing abilities.
You will honestly forget for a minute if you are on the boardwalk or viewing a circus sideshow at times. If its weirdness that you crave you can always take a stroll to the “Ripleys - believe it or not“, which has more oddities then you could possibly need for one day.
Another form of Atlantic City Entertainment is the concerts & comedians that are now flocking to play at one of the great venues that the city has. From the Rolling Stones to the local comedian trying to catch a break - there is entertainment year round in all forms.
Also remember that Atlantic City has one of the only free beaches in New Jersey, not like the city needs the extra money they would make off a $7 beach badge! So you can just stroll on into the water and not have to pay a penny. Which these days is almost unheard of. One of the areas local writers, Jen Miller, has pointed this out in her book, the book also has a lot of other great facts and tips about the Jersey Shore.
So next time before you just decide to goto Atlantic City to sit at a black jack table, yank at a slot machine or yell let it ride when throwing some dice - think outside the box at some of the other great stuff there is to do in the city that is, “Always Turned On.”

We were there last year and it was fantastic. The comedy shows were especially funny! Overall, it was a great break.

Atlantic City is a great place, and despite some of the rougher perception the area gets, it really isn’t all that bad, and is quite a beautiful place during the day.
