The Best iPhone Apps For Travelers
Most of us travel with a mobile device and for many of us, that just might be an iPhone. After all, millions of them have been sold worldwide. One of the attractions of the iPhone is all the mobile applications you can use with it. There are hundreds of those available for travelers. Here they are:

The best travel apps for your Iphone
Check Flight Status
Flight Status - Check the status of thousands of flights around the world by flight number, route or airport. This is one of several applications using FlightStats data.
Find Places Near You
Yelp offers quick links to restaurants, bars, coffee shops and other places near you. Also consider Around Me and Where. When you’re on the road, you might also need to find a cheap gas station (Gasbag) or a bathroom (Sit or Squat).
Locate A Good Restaurant
We’ve already covered the LocalEats application in our review of Where the Locals Eat. Another option is Urban Spoon, which finds places to eat near you.
Find Things To Do
Once you have eaten, you might be looking for some entertainment. That’s where iEventful comes in. You can locate anything from concerts to shopping to tours. Try it here. An alternative is Near + Now.
Get Around
There are lots of applications that help you to get around. Google Earth and Google Maps are useful to include on your iPhone, but there are also several others, such as City Transit for New York City, Tube London City for London and iMetro for 28 cities around the world. There’s even a great app for calling a taxi.
Talk To The Locals
If you’re traveling abroad, then it’s helpful to speak the language. Never worry about this again with Lonely Planet phrasebooks, currently available in ten languages. An alternative is iBabelingo.
Handle Money
If you want to be sure of what you’re spending, then you will need a currency converter. Try either the MOMPF Currency Converter or the TouchMeme Currency Converter. The TouchMeme converter converts a whole lot of other things as well. Keep track of your spending with the Spend iPhone app and work out what to tip with iPhone Tipper.
Other Applications
A good all round app is Travelocity Travel Tools, which gives info on flights and hotels, as well as allowing you to track your trips. And before you set off, don’t forget to check the weather.
Choosing the best is always subjective, so if you have any iPhone apps you would like to add to the list, please do so in the comments.

Great list of travel apps for the iPhone. Most if not all of these apps will also work on the iPod Touch, using it’s wifi capabilities. So if your cell phone carrier does not have the iPhone, consider the iPod Touch

Hello. I would also recommend iLingual, which is as far as I know the best talking phrasebook for iPhone. It enables you to take a picture of your own mouth and as you choose a phrase, it moves in synch as if you were really saying it. iLingual is free and already available in French, German and Arabic. Useful and fun, you should try it!
