From Google comes an interactive infographic on the five stages of travel. These are dreaming, planning, booking, experiencing and sharing. Many of us are using the internet and mobile devices for planning, booking and sharing, while 32% of business travelers review the places they visit.
According to MapQuest, national parks are a big winner when it comes to summer travel. Most people search for directions to the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and Yosemite and there were 279 billion visits to parks in 2011.
How has travel changed in the era of social media? This infographic published in Social Times highlights some interesting statistics. Did you know that there are more people buying iPhones each day than babies being born? And that more people will be using social media while on vacation than lying in the sun?
