The William P Hobby Airport (HOU) is a great place for a layover, as it is located only seven miles southeast of Houston’s main business district. Hobby Airport, which mainly handles domestic and private flights to more than 32 destinations, started out as a private landing field in 1927, but by 1940 it had been surpassed by a new and larger terminal.
